How To Keep Your Centre As The World Falls Apart: Guided Yoga Nidra & Talk

In this month’s live Talk and Yoga Nidra session led by James Reeves we will be exploring what it means to be alive in 2022. With a pandemic (hopefully) behind us, yet in the midst of war and economic downturn, and a global crisis of resources and climate looming, how can we stay centred and grounded and not be swept away by despair? Explore inquiries and practices designed to help you cope with the now, and feel more balanced about our collective future. The event will be recorded and sent to all those who wish to join but can’t attend the event in real time.

The session will cover:

Influence: The information age relies heavily on influencing us through negativity, specifically fear. Bad news gets our attention, gets clicks, and sells papers. Bad things do happen, but what if there is more good than you notice? How can you stop being drawn into seeing only the suffering? Get free of despair and rise up into wholeness through practices designed to set the balance of your mind to dead-centre.

Transforming emotions: once we’ve gained some perspective and bought balance to our minds and nervous systems, how can we listen to feelings that might be noble and instructive? What actions are we being asked to take? Become empowered through the act of fully embracing emotions.

Opposites: Is it not true that amidst the chaos and suffering, beauty unfolds in every moment? For every death, a new life is born. For all the sorrow and pain, might there also be tremendous grace and kindness amidst humanity? Explore the process of using opposites in a way we’ve not done before in these sessions. Go deeper into enquiry, get free from any sense of impending doom (!), and remember the wonder and possibility in our shared humanity.

Beyond It All: There is a deep, timeless essence that is within us all and within our reach, and often fast-tracked through the practice of Deep Rest. Awakening to our timeless stillness is not a special right reserved for those who wish to live in a cave, but something that can be easily uncovered, and by doing so can support and nourish us amidst all the ups and downs. Drop your anchor and go deep into your most rested self.

So, come and join us for 90 minutes of insight, instruction and experience to help you access and integrate this depth of self-inquiry into your own life.

Practical info:

These monthly virtual sessions are hosted by leading yoga nidra trainer James Reeves (www.deeprest.com) and delivered via Zoom. Full instructions/links to join are sent in your email confirmation. The event is also recorded and sent to everyone who registered - ideal if you can’t attend live and great to revisit the experience later.

We recommend that to prepare, you find a quiet place within your home (or wherever you may be) and create a 'rest nest' (blankets, cushions, relaxing smells, etc.,) ready to settle in and be guided into deep rest.

Tickets by donation with a suggested fee of £15 (but please do pay what you can afford)
