Deep Rest Home Retreat – A Day of Yoga Nidra and Home Rest Practice Toolkit

Join James Reeves from the comfort of your own home to transform your capacity to rest deeply in your everyday environment.

We all know we need rest. But in this fast-paced world, how good are we at actually taking it, day by day?

Join us for a deeply restorative Yoga Nidra day retreat, designed not only to give you a game-changing experience of profound rest on the day, but also to set you up comprehensively with a deeply nourishing home rest practice beyond the retreat day itself.

Including access to James Reeves’ signature online audio programme, Rest Now (worth +€35.00) this day retreat offers everything you need to transform your relationship with rest – and with your home as a restful place.

Dissolve the need for a holiday, a getaway or an expensive price tag to serve as a permission slip to simply stop and let mind and body rest. Ease back into the truth that you can find rest here and now, without great cost, elaborate planning or escapism. Be guided into practices that cut through the noise of goals and ambitions revealing deeper quiet and stillness, and go beyond practices or habits that have become rest-disguised recreation.
Something so much simpler, deeper, richer and more immediately available is right here waiting for you – join us to uncover it!

  • This event will be hosted online, via Zoom. You will receive recordings from the day, for your own use and review, and to recreate the essence of this day if you wish to.

    ‘Rest Now’ Audio Companion Course

Your ticket to the day retreat and recordings includes access to James Reeves’ signature audio course, Rest Now, which offers you a comprehensive introduction to yoga nidra and comprises eight MP3 recordings (four introduction talks and four full length practices), and an accompanying 30 page rest guide in PDF format, designed to help you deepen your experience of rest.

Rest Now will support you beyond the Day Retreat Event to:

    • Create your own desert island in life, without the need to get away from anything or anyone

    • Unravel from guilt and shame about stopping

    • Be better able to face that restless part of you that might seem ever more present whenever you do try to stop (such as a ‘monkey mind’)

    • Experience how a meditative state does not require you to have any knowledge or skills

    • Come to know the part of you that is always at rest, so that in frantic or unsettled periods of life you can call on this restfulness, even amidst the storm

    • Experience how rest can, contrary to expectations, increase your productivity and energy levels

    • Notice the opportunities amidst your current day-to-day life to enjoy the benefits of a natural pause - i.e. see that you might not necessarily have to ‘create’ space in your life, just notice where it is already

    • Ensure you can find a place to rest, without being disturbed by family members, house mates etc. Make agreements that you’ll be left undisturbed for the day with the people you share space with, ahead of time.

    • Have a comfortable palace to rest. Blankets, pillows, cushions, candles, incense, eye pillow (if you like them), other props that would support you to be comfortable.

    • Be willing to stay off of email, instagram, facebook, google and other tech stimulus for the entire day.

    • Rest between sessions. Please take nature walks, drink tea, sit on the sofa, gaze out the window. Be willing to refrain from work calls, family communication, emails, online shopping and other distractions for the entire day.

    • Be willing to experience restlessness as part of the day. Unplugging from the demands of life can leave us feeling fidgety, restless, preoccupied and with a noisy mind. This is completely normal.

Trust yourself to experience the day as it comes – don’t put yourself under pressure to ‘soak it all up’, remember everything or take notes. Rest back into the knowledge you have the recordings and Rest Now resources to support your ongoing integration of the retreat and any featured content.
